Nothing is more important to our country's future than its youth. All too many times the brightest, most passionate and hardest working youth get derailed in life by circumstance and lack of guidance. So often important lessons are often missing in early childhood. Lesson such as being taught right from wrong, how to reach for goals, how to achieve success while staying humble and how to succeed in being valuable members of society. Having a mentor to help guide and encourage kids can make all the difference.
This is a lesson I know well. As a successful serial entrepreneur, the foundation of all my accomplishments can be traced back to a single guiding mentor when I was just 13 years old. He helped push me to dream big and strive for more than the hand I was originally dealt in life. He taught me early lessons in business and sales that were necessary to accomplish my goals. It is not an exaggeration to say my life would look very different now if not for his guiding influence in my formative years.
This is the driving force behind my passion to pass on the gift of mentorship to others. This passion can be seen in the team work atmosphere of my companies where employees support one another like family and loyalty runs deep. For 83 years Today's Harbor For Children have been supporting Texas youth between the ages of 5-18 by providing them a safe environment and teaching them the life skills they need to become successful adults and valued members of their community.
